I went to upload some photos of benches, with GPS data, to OpenBenches, but it looks like Google has broken this :(
Making it opt-in would be sensible and absolutely fine, but I seemingly can't choose it at all.
@neil If you're using a NextCloud/ownCloud, the android client allows
"instant upload" from a watched camera folder. That preserves GPS tags (just checked). It also helps me not losing photos, but thats a different sory.
#Zelenskyy: tRump’s decision to pause key russia sanctions benefits moscow and does nothing to end the war.
In physics, curved spacetime is the mathematical model in which, with Einstein's theory of general relativity, gravity naturally arises, as opposed to being described as a fundamental force in Newton's static Euclidean reference frame. Objects move along geodesics—curved paths determined by the local geometry of spacetime—rather than being influenced directly by distant bodies.
They could take it back any day.
Imagine having been cleaning your apartment for days until it is all shiny and you've polished every surface and detail you can think of. Spotless. Perfect.
Then your friends arrive. One by one they all leave you a list each of about 7 different things you missed, forgot or did a bad job with.
This is what we have now with the AI vulnerability reports. A really long line of friends queuing to point out more flaws to you. Clean better dammit.
#SpookySeason gets a sinister, shadowy visitor. 🦇 In F. W. Murnau’s NOSFERATU (1922), Count Orlok’s long fingers and eerie silhouette make this landmark of horror cinema a study in unease. 🕯️

Still attempting to pivot out of academia and into a pharma consulting, real-world evidence, outcomes research, medical writing or data science role
It's not a crisis right now, but the job I'm in won't last forever, it turns out
I'm actually hoping to get a job with a big pharma company, so if anyone here lives in that world or can help me get in, would appreciate very much
:boost_requested:
Also, :NoAt: no need to reply if you're going to tell me about how bad big pharma is
that's what my husband does
I don't know if you'll have luck, but apply at Verista. If you need a recommendation, hit me up in a DM.

Oma open source -some tuntuu edelleen hyvältä.
Pelko on selvästi turhaa.

Ok time to go for a (cold but not windy) bike ride
Unfort that’s how it works, even with 2FA enabled you need some sort of access for apps and clients
So people, this would be a good time to review your allowed apps in account settings and delete those you do not use!
*again it’s a guess but better to be sure
Something I've noticed while on book tour for the past couple of weeks is that Mastodon is a really good way to let people know about bookstore events. So many people I've met on the road have told me that they found out about my book tour from me or other folks on the fedi. I think it's partly because so many book-loving people are on Mastodon. But also if you compare Mastodon to places like Bluesky or Insta, the community here has a higher percentage of actual humans vs. bots or operatives.

@mekkaokereke Strongly agree, we need more open discussion about non-chronological feeds that are open and beneficial. This can be easily be done and have a positive impact on the community.
